Contemporaries to covet in September

Hi everyone. I’m back from India and can’t wait to share some of my pictures with you. That’s not what today’s post is about, but here’s one of my favorites. I love these kids’ smiles, and how they’re laughing so hard they’re blurry.

Kids in India

And now back to our regularly scheduled program…contemporary romance new releases!

Here’s how it goes for those of you who are new to the blog. Every month, I talk about the contemporary romances coming out that month that I’m most looking forward to reading. You guys leave comments telling me what September contemporaries you’re looking forward to. Next week I’ll choose one person who wins a $10 gift certificate to the online book seller of their choice for themselves AND for the author they mention.

So here’s what’s on my TBR pile.

Hunk for the Holidays by Katie Lane

Hunk for the HolidaysAlways putting business before pleasure, Cassie McPherson works hard for her family’s construction business. That might explain why she doesn’t have a date for the company Christmas party. But it doesn’t quite explain why she’s crazy enough to hire an escort for the event or – crazier still – why she’s dying to unwrap him like a present…

With whiskey-colored eyes and a killer smile, James is one gorgeous hunk who really knows how to fill out a tuxedo. He charms everyone, including Cassie. And when the night ends, the party doesn’t stop. As Cassie falls, literally, into his bed, James falls head over heels in love. Now he has to figure out a way to tell her the truth: he’s not an escort. He’s her family’s fiercest business rival. But all he wants for Christmas is her…

My two cents

Hard to believe holiday romances are already coming out, isn’t it? But I love Katie Lane’s novels, and I’ve been looking forward to Christmas so I’d love to find this one in my stocking in September.

Finally Home by Helen Scott Taylor

Finally HomeAs manager of the charming Greyfriar House Hotel, Melanie Marshall loves her job and spending time with her young son. But she can never forget what she ran away from: her late husband’s crimes and her own terrible guilt. Though lonely, Melanie can’t afford to let another man into her life.

But when her boss, gorgeous hotel owner Jack Summers, returns from his supposed wedding without a ring or a wife, Melanie discovers there’s more to him than she ever thought. For one, the ex-soccer star is her son’s idol. But the closer she gets to Jack, the more she pulls away. She can’t share her past. Ever.

For too long, Jack’s protected his scarred heart by letting gold-digging women make him think love didn’t matter. But a sweet single mother and a soccer-crazy little boy change everything. He knows Melanie has secrets. Secrets she’ll have to share if he’s to help her realize she’s finally home.

My two cents
The cover sold me on this one. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more effective contemporary romance cover. You can see so much about the love and laughter in their relationship, and I really, really want to read this now.

Giveaway!

Answer at least one of the questions in bold below. By “contemporary romance” I mean romance between human beings set in the present day. It can be romantic suspense, inspirational, erotic, category-length, novellas or whatever.

I’ll choose one winner on Tuesday September 18th. That person will get a $10 gift certificate to the online book retailer of their choice, AND I’ll send the same to the author they mention.

If the winner mentions more than one author, I’ll ask her to choose which one gets the gift certificate.

This is open internationally.

  1. They look like good stories and I can’t believe there are holiday stories out already. I am looking forward to Nightingale Way by Emily March.

  2. I have not read either author. They both look very good but unfortunately one is an ebook and so many ones are only coming out in that fashion that I really have to get me an ereader.
