Contemporaries to covet in October

It’s that time of the month again – when we celebrate the best contemporary romances being published this month.

For those of you who are new here, at the beginning of every month I tell you a couple of the upcoming contemporary romances I’m most looking forward to. You tell me the same and one person will win a $10 gift certificate for herself AND for the author.

More about that below, but first here are the October contemporary romance novels I can’t wait to read.

The Marriage Trap by Jennifer Probst

The Marriage TrapTo satisfy his late father’s wishes, hot and single billionaire Michael Conte must find a bride—someone who will fit into his traditional family back home in Italy—and fast, so his engaged sister will be allowed to wed. With no intention of being tied down, Michael “proposes” to fiery, free-spirited photographer Maggie Ryan: if she will play the part of his fiancée during her trip to Milan for a photo shoot, he will keep away from her married best friend, Alexa, and stop making Maggie nuts with their too-close-for- comfort flirtations.

But once in Italy, sexual tension sparks the hottest no-strings- attached arrangement on any continent. Could marriage be the most enticing trap of all?

My two cents

I’m probably the only person in the world who hasn’t read the first book in this series, The Marriage Bargain. It’s definitely on my TBR list, though, and I’ll be eager to see if the Marriage Trap is just as successful. Plus, who can resist a billionaire?

Barefoot in the Rain by Roxanne St. Claire

A Barefoot Bay Novel (Book 2)

They say you can never go home again…

Barefoot in the RainWhen “Life Coach to the Stars” Jocelyn Bloom is embroiled in scandal, the only place she can hide is the one place she wishes she could forget. She left Barefoot Bay-and the boy next door who knew all her secrets-years ago. Now nothing about the tiny island off the coast of Florida is quite how she remembers it, especially Will Palmer. He’s even more gorgeous and tempting… and still capable of turning her world inside out.

But what if someone is waiting for you?

To Will Palmer, Guy Bloom is more than the elderly, senile neighbor he looks after-he’s the last connection to Jocelyn, the woman Will loved and lost. But the reunion with Jocelyn doesn’t go smoothly. Shocked by the change in her father’s personality, Jocelyn struggles to reconcile her dark childhood with the sweet, confused man who has grown close to Will. Jocelyn has guided countless clients to happiness-but can she escape the rainy days of her past for a new sunny future with Will?

My two cents
I’ve been waiting for this book for a looong time. I read the first in the series, Barefoot in the Sand, when it first came out in May and loved it. Even though this series is straight contemporary romance – not the romantic suspense she’s best known for – I’m convinced Roxanne St. Claire can’t write a bad book.

Giveaway!

Answer at least one of the questions in bold below. By “contemporary romance” I mean romance between human beings set in the present day. It can be romantic suspense, inspirational, erotic, category-length, novellas or whatever.

I’ll choose one winner on Tuesday October 16th. That person will get a $10 gift certificate to the online book retailer of their choice, AND I’ll send the same to the author they mention.

If the winner mentions more than one author, I’ll ask her to choose which one gets the gift certificate.

This is open internationally.

Questions:
What contemporary romance novel(s) being released in October are you looking forward to? Have you read anything by the authors I mentioned? Which of their books do you like best?

I was looking forward to Reflected in You by Sylvia Day, which I’ve already read.
Upcoming though for October? >.< I don't know if "looking forward to" is accurate and I'm so behind on her books… but Wyoming Fierce by Diana Palmer. I guess I've broken myself of the habit/addiction of her books. Reading them at least – I do *get* them at some point just to "collect"?
To be honest, a book I think that is fantastic that will be out early November … is Exposed to You by Beth Kery.

  18. I enjoyed Jennifer Probst’s The Marriage Bargain, and am looking forward to her next release! I had no idea Roxanne St. Claire was writing non-suspense contemporaries–another thing to add to the TBR list. I’m rather fond of her Bullet Catchers. 🙂

  19. Haven’t read any of Jennifer Probst’s books, but the one mentioned sounds good. I have read some of St. Clair’s suspense books and look forward to both of the contemps in the series.

    Thanks for the giveaway.

  20. I am looking forward to Lean On Me by HelenKay Dimon. I love that all her books are sexy with humor mixed it. I havent read anything by Ms. Probst, but I think I will check her out now. I will read anything Roxanne St Claire writes, suspense, contempt or YA. She can do no wrong!!

  21. I read Jennifer’s first book, The Marriage Bargain, BEFORE it was super popular, when she pushing the ebook herself. I really liked it.

  24. I have totally forgotten about Roxanne St.Clair’s contemporary series! I need to look this series up again.

I have just finished Undeniable by Alison Kent and it is sooo good! Very sexy and hot and with cowboys. Do I need to say more? 😉 There is a secondary couple in it that is just as good as the main one. I can absolutely recommend this book!

  25. Can’t wait to read, My Kind of Christmas by Robyn Carr! Always enjoy the Virgin River series. Thank you for the contest.

  26. I’m totally looking forward to Fearless Love, #7 in Meg Benjamin’s Konigsburg, TX series. I’m totally hooked on the series. Apparently, I’m the only other person who hasn’t read The Marriage Bargain LOL. The Roxanne St. Clair book looks very tempting. I don’t read Rom Suspense, so I haven’t tried any of her books, but this sounds much more appealing to me.

  27. I’m looking forward to My Kind of Christmas (Virgin River) by Robyn Carr – I like to continue the series.
I also want to get a hold of Lori Foster’s new book Run the Risk
I’ve read a few books by Roxanne, but none by Jennifer (so far).
