Mistletoe Madness blog hop: What hidden gems are on your TBR pile?

It’s the holiday season, and that means it’s time for the Mistletoe Madness blog hop! Over 50 authors (including me) are giving away goodies on our blogs…PLUS, several authors got together to sponsor a special prize: a Kindle Fire!

You can find out more about the giveaways at the bottom of this post.

Mistletoe Madness blog hop 2012

This year I’ve been really lucky to discover some amazing authors who had been languishing in my TBR pile for months. These are authors I’d kept hearing about and even follow online, but I just hadn’t gotten around to reading their books. Once I did, I fell completely in love with their writing.

One gem I liberated from my TBR pile this summer was Cecilia Grant’s A Lady Awakened. A couple of my friends (Rose Lerner and Elise Rome) had raved about Cecilia Grant’s writing, and I trust their taste completely. Oh. My. They didn’t steer me wrong. Talk about sultry scenes and some of the most sensuous writing. I can’t wait to read my next Cecilia Grant novel. She’s absolutely amazing.

Another wonderful set of books I discovered this year is Elizabeth Hoyt’s Maiden Lane series. It’s set in 1730s London, one of my favorite historical settings and one that too few authors explore. Elizabeth Hoyt’s Wicked Intentions was the first book of hers that I read but I immediately bought the next book in the series and kept reading.

Last but not least, I recently plucked Tessa Dare’s A Night to Surrender out of my TBR pile. I’d been following Tessa on Twitter for a long time and read rave reviews about her books. Don’t ask me why it took so long to get around to reading one of her books, but it certainly won’t be long until I read another. The book was so funny and poignant that I became a fan for life!

What gems have you found on your TBR pile this year? Is there anyone who’s still on your pile who you plan to give a chance in 2013?

Giveaway!

This summer at the RWA National Conference, I was given an extra copy of Elizabeth Hoyt’s Wicked Intentions and Tessa Dare’s A Night to Surrender. I’m giving away both books to one lucky winner. (I would give away Cecilia Grant’s A Lady Awakened, but I only have one copy, and it’s personally signed to me with a note that she loves my blog – *squee!* – and you will only get it if you pry it out of my cold, dead hands.)

Wicked IntentionsA Night to SurrenderThe winner will be randomly chosen and announced on Saturday December 22. This is open internationally.

Enter using the Rafflecopter widget below. (If you choose to enter by leaving a comment, make sure you enter the comment URL into the Rafflecopter widget because that’s where I’ll choose the winner from.)

    1. You really need to get started on them. With the novels and novellas, she is up to 44 current books in the series and 45 is coming out in February. It took me a long time to start reading them as well, but I am oh so glad that I did.

I just finished the 3rd book. Sadly, I often pick series instead of single books so it takes more time reading but all reading is great. Thanks for the giveaway opportunities. Happy Holidays to you!

  27. Great authors! There both wonderful! Love them! Great hop & awesome giveaway! Thank you!! Happy holidays to you all! Best wishes and many blessings!
