I need your help to choose my author photo

Just before Christmas, my wonderful friend Matthew Percival took some photos of me for my website and to help publicize my book – proper, professional photos. I even put on makeup.

I’ve narrowed it down to my four favorites, but I need help deciding which one is the best. I’ll tell you one thing, it’s very hard not to look five-months pregnant when you’re…well, five-months pregnant.

So what do you think? Which picture makes me look svelte (ha!) and like the friendly sort of person whose book you’d want to buy?

The bump

This one isn’t a contender for my author photo, but Matt also took a picture of me and my 21-week bump. I won’t get much bigger than this, right?

Which photo do you like best?

  1. I love option 2 ( second choice is option 1, with the scenery you seem to be kind and romantic; option 2 is more centered it’s for that it’s my first pick for your author picture)

( and you are glowing so no problem at all^^)

  2. I like both 3 and 2 in that order… but they are all great… Congrats on your upcoming bundle… babies are great.

  3. I have to agree with almost everyone above and vote for #2, although they are all very pretty. You won’t regret getting the one with the bump. Good times to remember. Don’t forget to take a picture of the bump just before you go to the hospital.

  4. I’m the odd one out – I like #4. It makes you look like you live a dashing cosmopolitan life and have all kinds of interesting stories to tell.

But really, you can’t go wrong with any of them.

  5. I like option 2. I like to be able to see what the author looks like and so I prefer a closer view. Option 1 is probably my second choice, but they all turned out well!

  6. I vote for option 2….awesome pic…look forward to reading your new book too…keep all your fans posted.

  7. So pretty I really like #2 & 3. #2 with the blurred background the focus is on the beauty you are.
    have a good one Ann.

  8. Thank you all SO much! It sounds like we have a clear winner…but more than that, you’ve all made me feel quite pretty! *muah!* You’re all awesome, and I love you.:)

  9. The one photograph that really called to me is #4 but I would crop it to show everything just left of the pole to focus on the romantic building behind you The architecture of the building on the left of the pole calls to me and makes me think of a wonderful story waiting to be told.

  10. You look great and cannot believe how big your bump – you are more than half way there – didnt realize that.

    I love option 3.

  11. I LOVE the bump, ha! But if I was forced to choose one, I’d select Option #2. I like the focus on your face (lovely smile) and the background is a bit faded. You’re center stage, where you should be.

  12. #2 is a great choice, you look stunning. got the mama glow going on 🙂

also, that is a bunny hill compared to the bump that awaits you come 37-38 weeks. prepare to be amazed.

  13. My favorite is No. 2 as well. But you look great in all of them – especially with baby bump. Happy Birthday, Kat. Hope you have a great one. I hope you get someone to sing an even better rendition of Happy Birthday. Happy Birthday.
