We interrupt this maternity leave to bring you pictures of an adorable baby

Hello, friends! I wanted to take a quick break between feedings and naps to let you know that I’ve had my baby!

Baby Girl was born on April 29th. She weighed 8lbs, 4oz and is absolutely perfect. My labor went really quickly. It lasted 12 hours but didn’t seem that long, even at the time. Baby had to be born with the help of a vacuum pump, which was quite ouchie for both of us, but the pain of labor never seemed as excruciating as I’d prepared myself for it to be. (Breastfeeding on the other hand…holy mother of pearl!)

Anyway, I wanted to thank you all for your best wishes on the post where I announced I’m taking a blog maternity leave. I really appreciate your thoughtfulness and support!

And now, here are some pictures of my little girl. They’re mostly of her sleeping because, well, that’s her main talent at the moment (except between 11pm-4am, when her main talent is crying if I put her down).

There’s nothing better than a hug from a sleeping baby. Nothing.

From my family to yours, have a very happy weekend – and I’ll see you again in June!
