I’m so excited, you guys. Today I get to share with you not only the cover of my second London Legends novel but also the back cover copy so you know what the story’s actually about! Yes, it’s more than a man with awesome abs and perky nipples.
Playing It Close is particularly close to my heart. I wrote most of it when I was pregnant, and I was determined to finish it before Doodle Bug arrived. It was like racing my own baby to the finish line. I lost the race (but won the magnificent prize of Doodle Bug).
So here it is! The cover! In a puzzle!
I’m giving you a chance to win an advance copy of Playing It Close. See below for details.
Book two of the London Legends
Where do you go to escape everything when you’re one of the most famous rugby players in the world? For Liam Callaghan, that place is a remote lodge on Venezuela’s Caribbean coast. Perfect, except he doesn’t exactly want to be alone with his thoughts. Enter Tess Chambers, the ultimate distraction.
Still reeling from a professional disaster that’s made her all but unemployable, Tess understands the desire to move through life as somebody else. So when instantly recognizable Liam uses a fake name, she runs with it and creates a temporary new identity of her own.
Their time spent together in paradise is idyllic but brief—after one passionate night, Liam wakes up to find Tess gone. Returning to London, he’s shocked to learn she’s taken a job with his team’s new sponsor. As the Legends’ captain, he’ll have to not only figure out how to work with the one woman who ever left him wanting more, but also convince her that their feelings in the present mean more than any lies they’ve told in the past.

Kat, I loved this post and the puzzle. It didn’t take very long to solve the puzzle at all. This book sounds like a must read.
The cover is beautiiful!
I like the puzzle. Something different than normal cover reveals 🙂
Loved the cover and love sports books.
Took me 2 mins to solve; cannot believe I was that slow. LOL.
I really enjoyed Knowing the Score and I’m excited for your next one!
and the cover was great!
And I read Chapter one and was hooked! Can’t wait! I’ll have to reread Knowing the Score to prep 🙂
Yay! Thanks so much, Christine!
I love the cover. It’s obviously part of the same series as your previous book with that iconic font. Love the puzzle cover reveal, too! I love puzzles.
This was a great way to do a cover reveal! Good job I’d had my coffee 🙂 Looks lovely… and I LOVE rugby!

Love the cover!! Thanks for the giveaway!!
If I saw this book in the store, I would pick it up to look at since the cover intrigues me. It also gives me a hint of what the book is about. . I like it
Love the cover and can’t wait for this book
I love the cover. Those greens are fantastic. Just so you know you’ve described Liam as a blond. Your hot rugby dude is a brunette. :p
Good observation! I realized that too after I read the first Chapter from the most recent newsletter post but you beat me to it 🙂
Maybe he’s meant to be just a Generic hot rugby dude.
I know, Chanpreet. He also doesn’t have long hair. We can imagine this is Liam from the neck down. Or he grew and dyed his hair for a bet. 😉
Being blessed with only sons and only have 1 granddaughter (along with 4 grandsons) I learned to love sports long ago! I also have 4 nephews as well as 5 cousins – all boys and between them all and the sports they’ve played have come to appreciate the hard work it dedication and work it takes.
Out of all of them (plus my own father and all my uncles) only one of all of them has played Rugby but I think it’s the one game I’ve enjoyed watching being played because every moment is filled with action!
I can’t wait to read Playing It Close!
Ahh!!! So excited about another London Legends book.
Ooh, it’s a been a while since I’ve seen manly long hair on a cover.
It’s a eye catching cover.
i really like the cover thank you
I loved “Knowing The Score” and can’t wait to read “Playing It Close”!
Great cover, too!
Looks great!! Such a coincidence Liam comes to Venezuela, I live here hehe.
Oh, how funny! I wrote Playing It Close when my brother was dating a woman from Venezuela (they’re now married and expecting a baby), so Venezuela was on my mind! I knew I couldn’t go there anytime soon, so researching it was second best. 🙂
It’s dazzling! I love it, Kat. Congrats. I loved this story but didn’t see all of it, so I can’t wait to find out how it ends. So do you have a release date yet?!?
