Release day party for One Night with Her Bachelor! *throws confetti*

One Night With Her Bachelor by Kat LathamFriends, One Night with Her Bachelor hits ereaders today! I’m so excited to share this story with you. Some books are torturous to write (Taming the Legend, I’m giving you the side eye) and some almost seem to write themselves. One Night flowed so easily that I felt like it was special from the very beginning. I really, really wish all books were like that!

Since I interviewed all the other authors in the Bachelor Auction series, I thought I should probably do the same for myself. See below for giveaway details!

1. Tell us a little about the hero and heroine in One Night with Her Bachelor.

Molly’s a single mom and a kindergarten teacher. She’s known for being one of the nicest people in town, but she finds it tough to ask people for help when she needs it–and boy, does she need it. Her ten-year-old son, Josh, suffers a terrible accident, and Molly’s bills start piling up, so her best friend organizes a bachelor auction to raise some money for her.

Gabriel used to be an Air Force pararescueman (the guys who do combat search and rescue), but a helicopter crash ended his career. He’s at a loss when it comes to what he should do next. When he gets roped in to being auctioned off, he ends up being bought for Molly, the one woman with a chance in hell of getting through to him.

2. How does Molly end up buying Gabriel?

She doesn’t, but I’m not going to tell you who does because it’s a little bit of a surprise.  I will tell you it’s one of my favorite scenes in the book, though. 🙂

3. What makes their relationship complicated?

Molly’s got a HUGE amount of stress in her life, and Gabriel doesn’t want to be one more burden on her. He wants to make her life easier, and he finds lots of sweet ways to do that, but he knows that having a relationship with him would give her a lot more to worry about. He has secrets, you see…and I’m not going to spill them here.

4. Is One Night with Her Bachelor related to any of your other books?

It is! Gabriel has a twin sister, Camila (heroine of Taming the Legend, coming May 11) and two older half brothers: Wyatt (Two Nights with His Bride, coming June 8) and Austin (title and date TBD). Their family situation is complicated. Their mom was married and had Wyatt and Austin first, but when they were toddlers she had an affair and got pregnant with Gabriel and Camila. The four kids didn’t always get along with each other, but they’ll become closer and closer as the stories progress.

5. If you could buy any celebrity for a date, who would you buy and what kind of date would he take you on?

Most people who know me probably think I’d go for a rugby player, but I’m very happily married to the only rugby player I need. (Though he’s more of a rugby watcher these days.) So I’d go for chat-show host Graham Norton because he can put anyone at ease, and I always got painfully shy and nervous when I went out on dates. Also, when I lived in London, I lived just around the corner from him. I used to see him walking his dogs and shopping at our local supermarket. So I know we could chat about dogs and the supermarket’s recent renovation. (Now do you see why I was crap at dating?) We’d go on a date to a spa somewhere in Ireland because I’ve been hunched over my computer so long that all I can think about is getting a massage.

I’m giving away a $10 bookstore gift certificate to one person who leaves a comment. I’ll announce the winner on Monday, April 6. Good luck!

One Night with Her Bachelor

Bid on a date with this wounded warrior for an unforgettable night of adventure. Aim high—and bid higher!—because no one comes close to local hero Gabriel Morales.

One Night With Her Bachelor by Kat LathamMolly Dekker hates being the town charity case, but when her son Josh is seriously injured she has no choice. She lets her best friend organize a bachelor auction to help pay her massive bills and make Josh’s life more comfortable. She can’t bid on any of the men, but a surprise bidder gives her a gift she never expected: a date with the man who saved her son’s life—the only one she’s in danger of losing her heart to.

Former Air Force pararescueman Gabriel Morales made a career of flying to the rescue, until a tragic helicopter crash stole more than his livelihood. Being auctioned off like a slab of beef isn’t in his recovery plan. But one look, one touch and one night unlocking Molly’s pent-up passion make him realize how badly he needs to be rescued…and how badly he wants to rescue Molly right back.

Will Molly and Gabriel’s never-quit attitude have them rushing head-first into love? Or will Gabriel’s secret pain stall their relationship before it can get off the ground?

Interview with Megan Crane — & giveaway!

Megan CraneToday I’m so pleased to get a chance to chat with Megan Crane, author of Bachelor Auction book #5, In Bed with the Bachelor — which just came out today! Welcome, Megan, and congrats on your latest release!

1. Tell us a little about the hero and heroine in In Bed with the Bachelor.

Jesse Grey (nephew of Jason Grey, proprietor of Grey’s Saloon in Marietta) has pretty much been in a bad mood ever since his father stole his girlfriend three years ago, and is positive nothing could ever change his stance on No Love, Ever.  Michaela Townsend, by contrast, thinks she has her life together.  Great job, great fiancé, great everything.

Naturally, they’re both wrong.  All it takes is getting stuck in a snowstorm to see it!

2. How does Michaela end up buying Jesse?

She doesn’t.  Her interfering relatives have banded together to buy him, and not even for her—they think Jesse, with all his noted business acumen, can help Michaela’s fiancé who they aren’t all that fond of.

3. What makes their relationship complicated?

There’s that little wrinkle of her being engaged to another man, though Michaela and her fiancé have a bit of an unconventional relationship…

4. Is In Bed with the Bachelor related to any of your other books?

Jesse Grey is one of the Grey cousins, all related in one way or another to surly Jason Grey, who runs Grey’s Saloon and has appeared in a lot of Montana Born books—not just mine!  Jesse’s father and wife (who happens to be Jesse’s ex—ouch) appeared in Come Home For Christmas, Cowboy, which featured Jesse’s cousin Christina and her husband, Dare.  It’s not at all necessary to read anything else before this one, though.

5. If you could buy any celebrity for a date, who would you buy and what kind of date would he take you on?

I live in Los Angeles, so I’ve been a little bit closer to celebrities than many, and I’d have to say that I wouldn’t want to do this.  At all.  I’d want to go on a date with my fantasy version of whichever star, not the actual person.  That’s destined to end in tears.  Mine, probably!  It occurs to me that this is why I wrote a Bachelor Auction novella that’s all about seeing beneath the surface of things…

Speed-dating round

When you were a kid, what was your dream job?

I wanted to be a writer when I grew up.  I still can’t believe that dream came true!  (I also wanted to be a Broadway star, but you know, you can’t have everything.)

If you won the lottery, what’s the most expensive thing you would buy?

A little studio apartment in Manhattan.  Or maybe a cottage in Cape Cod.  Or maybe a little getaway in Wanaka, New Zealand.  Hmm.  Maybe I need to win a lot of lotteries!

What’s the most beautiful place you’ve been to?

Iceland.  A thousand times, Iceland.  It’s magical!

Name a place you’ve never been to but would love to visit.

I recently saw a very cool trip to Antarctica that I’d absolutely love to take, with guest lecturers and scientists and amazing excursions and penguins, but it was laughably far outside my budget.  Someday!  Before it all melts!

What’s one food you hate?

Lima beans.  **shudder**

Megan’s giving away the Marietta e-book of the winner’s choice. She’s asked me to randomly select three winners. Leave a comment below to enter!

In Bed with the Bachelor

In Bed With The BachelorOur latest bachelor has enough family in Marietta to qualify as an honorary native, but hails instead from Seattle, WA, which is where he’ll fly you for a glamorous weekend on the shores of the sparkling Puget Sound.  Jesse Grey will treat you the way a local boy turned construction tycoon should: five star accommodations, gourmet dinners, and celebrated Washington wines.  We just can’t promise he’ll smile much.  Or at all.

Sold to the highest bidder!

Jesse Grey, notorious bachelor and one of Seattle’s foremost construction tycoons, has been roped into participating in the Marietta Bachelor Auction thanks to an expertly executed guilt trip laid out by his family.

Michaela Townsend already has a fiancé and certainly doesn’t need another man in her life. So when her family buys her surly, sexy Jesse at the auction and wrangles him into driving her from Montana to Seattle, she’s appalled yet disturbingly attracted.

As far as Jesse is concerned, Michaela is forbidden fruit. Even though he knows her fiancé isn’t all he seems, Jesse would never take what didn’t belong to him. But how long can he resist the one woman he shouldn’t touch? | Amazon UK | Amazon Aus | Amazon Can | B&N | iBooks | Google Play | Kobo

1. Tell us a little about the hero and heroine in the story.

The heroine here is bar waitress Mardie Griffin. She has a huge mortgage, a run-down old house, a one-year-old daughter and a well-earned mistrust of men. But there’s one man she trusts – extreme sports enthusiast, fixer of things and irrepressible flirt, Jett Casey. He’s had his eye on Mardie since high-school, and he’s about to up the ante…

2. How does Mardie end up buying Jett?

Mardie’s friend Ella Grace Emerson (from What A Bride Wants) buys Jett for his handyman skills – and then gives him to Mardie, who reluctantly accepts the charity.

4. Is What A Bachelor Needs related to any of your other books?

It’s loosely connected to What A Bride Wants, in that I revisit Grey’s Saloon and the people who work there. Ella Grace – heroine from the Bride story puts in another appearance here. I adore revisiting recurring characters – even if only briefly.

5. If you could buy any celebrity for a date, who would you buy and what kind of date would he take you on?

Sherlock Holmes would be my date and he’d take me back in time. No? Okay, Robert Downey Jnr. would be my date and he’d take me on set with him for a day, on a Sherlock movie. Jude Law would also be there. Mudwrestling would ensue.

Elite athlete Jett Casey has the world at his feet and no desire for stability. But there’s one woman he’s never forgotten and if he can help make her safe this time, maybe she’ll stop haunting him.

1. Tell us a little about the hero and heroine in Bachelor at Her Bidding.

Ryan grew up in Marietta, cared for by his grandparents after his parents’ death in an accident when he was ten. He trained as a chef in Paris, and was going to open a restaurant in Bozeman when he realised how sick his grandmother was – so he came back to Marietta to look after her. (This didn’t go down with his partner, who broke up with him over it.)

Rachel is a doctor – the only one of her family to go to university, so she feels she has to live up to their expectations. Her husband had an affair and totally trashed her self-esteem – and she came home to be close to her family and pick her life back up again. She’s working part time as a family doctor.

2. How does Rachel end up buying Ryan?

Her sister and her best friends bid for him as a birthday present for her.

3. What makes their relationship complicated?

4. Is Bachelor at Her Bidding related to any of your other books?

5. If you could buy any celebrity for a date, who would you buy and what kind of date would he take you on?

To the Led Zeppelin concert at Earls Court in 1975 (I was way too young at the time, but ohhh…)

What’s the most beautiful place you’ve been to?

About the book

Your date with Parisian-trained chef Ryan Henderson promises you’ll get the best meal of your life cooked especially for you. His Red Velvet cheesecake is to die for – but we know he has even better desserts up his sleeve…

Bachelor at Her Bidding by Kate HardyHow to win a girl in ten cakes…

When Dr. Rachel Cassidy comes back to Marietta with a broken heart and a divorce under her belt, going to a Bachelor Auction fund-raiser doesn’t sound like her idea of a good time – and when her sister and friends “buy” her a dinner date with sexy Parisian-trained pastry chef Ryan Henderson, that sounds even worse.

Ryan doesn’t have time for dating – he’s put his dreams to one side and come back to Marietta to look after his sick grandmother. But when he agrees to help a charity fundraiser by offering to cook a special meal to one lucky bidder, he gets more than he bargains for and discovers a woman he might just dare to let himself fall in love with.

Then tragedy strikes, just when Rachel and Ryan think they might have a future, opening up old scars and pushing them apart.

And if they’re to stand a chance of getting back together, then Ryan’s going to have to be seriously inventive. Can he win the love of his life with ten cakes?

Interview with Sarah Mayberry—and giveaway!

A couple of weeks ago, I revealed the cover for my next release, One Night With Her Bachelor, which is the sixth book in a multi-author series set in the small town of Marietta, Montana. The series revolves around a bachelor auction raising money for a single mom whose son had a bad accident. The books are about the super-hot men who selflessly let themselves be auctioned off to the highest bidder…and end up falling in love.

Over the next several Fridays, I’m interviewing the authors about their books and giving you a chance to win something fun. We’re kicking off the fun with Sarah Mayberry, whose book Bound to the Bachelor comes out today! *throws confetti*

Sarah Mayberry
Sarah Mayberry

First of all, let me tell you that one of the big reasons I’m SO excited to be part of this series is that I get to work with Sarah, one of my all-time favorite authors. She is BRILLIANT. If you think I’m just sucking up to her now because I’m working with her, you can check out my blog to find a long history of suck-upage. Like this interview with her. And this post about why I think Australia’s the sexiest country in the world. I was lucky enough to read Bound to the Bachelor a few weeks ago, and it’s fantastic. If you like stories about strong women overcoming their painful pasts while also having super-hot sex, one-click that sucker.

Please help me welcome Sarah and congratulate her on Bound to the Bachelor!

1. Tell us a little about the hero and heroine in Bound to the Bachelor.

Well, Beau and Lily have known each other for about five years. She’s best friends with his younger sister, Andie, and from the moment she and Beau met each other it’s been snark at ten paces. She thinks he judges her for having been a stripper in a former life. He thinks she’s trouble, and way too much of a distraction for a guy trying to get a fledgling business off the ground. They’ve always kept each other at arm’s length…until the bachelor auction.

2. How does Lily end up buying Beau?

Lily has had a difficult young adulthood. She was forced to leave home at an early age, and on the day of the auction, she receives a surprise inheritance from the man who forced her to run away. He’s left her a legacy in his will, but Lily doesn’t want anything to do with him. She wants to give it to her friend, Molly, and her injured son, Josh, both of whom are the reason everyone is rallying for the bachelor auction, but she knows that Molly won’t take a straight donation. Which means she needs to buy herself a bachelor. Unfortunately, there’s only one man left on the auction block by the time she’s thought her way through to this conclusion, and so she winds up buying Beau.

3. What makes their relationship complicated?

She is convinced he judges her for her past. And he knows that if he starts something with her, it’s going to be intense and full on, and he’s throwing all his energy into his rapidly-growing security company right now. Once they acknowledge their mutual attraction, they’re both prepared to back away into opposite corners and resume hostile relations again – but then Lily’s past comes back to haunt her and Beau needs to step in to protect her.

4. Is Bound to the Bachelor related to any of your other books?

It is! Lily and Beau were introduced in Make Believe Wedding, which features the romance between Andie, Beau’s sister, and Heath, Beau’s best and oldest friend.

5. If you could buy any celebrity for a date, who would you buy and what kind of date would he take you on?

Gosh, that’s a hard one. I’m happy to fantasise about hot movie stars while watching them in a movie, but in real life I’d be a tongue-tied mess. I might be better off doing something with someone I find really charming and non-threatening, like Graham Norton. Or – and this is going to sound weird – I would totally kill to have a meal with Tina Fey. She could take me anywhere. I think she’s amazing. See, this is the side effect of being very happily married – my husband stars in all my best fantasies!

Speed-dating round

If you could travel back in time, where would you go?
The Regency period in England. I would love to go to Almacks to witness an assembly. And maybe a grand ball. That would be awesome.

Name two of your favorite romance novels.
Blue-Eyed Devil by Lisa Kleypas and See Jane Score by Rachel Gibson.

When you were a kid, what was your dream job?
Writer! Still is.

If you won the lottery, what’s the most expensive thing you would buy?
Probably a house. And after that, a fast, sexy car. My father loves cars, and I have inherited his lust for shiny metal.

What’s the most beautiful place you’ve been to?
Chateau de Chenonceau in the Loire Valley, France. Google that name and you will see what I’m talking about. I literally had tears in my eyes as I walked around this stunning, beautiful, special place. It’s straight out of a fairy-tale, so romantic and amazing… I could rave and rave. The gardens, the building itself, the decor… If you are ever in France, add it to your must-see list. You won’t be disappointed.

Sarah says: “I’d love to offer two readers the opportunity to read Make Believe Wedding, the prequel to Bound to the Bachelor. Just comment below to be entered in the draw for an e-book.”

About the book

Bound to the Bachelor by Sarah MayberryYour date with Marietta local Beau Bennett includes a day on the slopes at Big Sky Resort, complete with a sumptuous meal in the Resort’s fanciest fine dining restaurant and door-to-door transport. Dig deep to secure the attentions of one of Montana’s most eligible – and elusive – bachelors.

Lily Taylor knows Beau Bennett dislikes her, but that won’t stop her from asking him to volunteer for the Bachelor Auction she’s organized to help her friend Molly provide for her tragically injured son, Josh. If Beau’s gorgeous face, piercing blue eyes and chiseled body inspires the women of Marietta to dig into their pockets for a good cause, then Lily will do whatever it takes to secure his participation.

Beau Bennett isn’t sure how he wound up on the auction block being eyed up by hundreds of eager women, but he knows who to blame for it – Lily Taylor, the sexy, distracting, off-limits best friend of his kid sister. As far as he’s concerned, the sooner this nightmare is over, the better.

The last thing either of them expects is for Lily to wind up bidding on – and winning – Beau, or that their date will lead to Beau stepping in to save Lily when her past comes back to haunt her. As Beau does his best to keep Lily safe, they discover that maybe they don’t dislike each other quite as much as they thought.

In fact, maybe it’s just the opposite…
